Peg Perego Usa John Deere Gator Hpx

Peg Perego Usa John Deere Gator Hpx Review

We just got this put together for spring and the kids LOVE it! They played on it nonstop for 2 hours and 15 mins before the batt died. This is the absolute hands down best ride-on I've bought for them - ever. That includes all the barbie jeeps, corvettes, and wally world specials I've gone through. Let's break it down:

Pros:
Very fast in 2nd gear - It'll move it. Put any pets up for their sanity.
Battery lasts 2 hours - We had 160 lbs of kids riding this thing for 2 hours and 15 mins before it died. They rode on rocks and rough terrain mixed with grass and smooth stuff and I was very surprised it worked that long.
We did charge it for 48 hours before the first run, so maybe that juiced it up nicely.
Dump feature - works well but doesn't dump all the way for small things like dirt.
Traction - This thing climbs over rocks, grass, dirt, pretty much anything reasonable for a child's toy. Spun out occasionally with only one kid in it but that wasn't a problem because once one played with it they all joined in.

Cons:
Horrible instructions - Just pictures of screws and general areas of the toy. Best of luck! And the stickers are misnumbered. I think everyone gets different numbers just to mess with you while you're putting stickers on it.
Cheap plastic bed with false support - There's a metal bar that runs along the top of the bed that supports it and keeps it from bending when you lean on it or put stuff in the bed. It's not bracketed to anything though and breaks off in the first half hour. Fail.
Batter compartment - Way too difficult to pull the battery out. Could have made it much easier.
No seat belts - IDK if it's not on the newer version or if they just weren't included, but mine didn't have seatbelts. No biggie since even our 2 yr old can hang on just fine.
Turning radius - Turns in about 20 feet of space. Could have halved that and still made it safe for kids.

All in all it's a great toy, even if it's got a few flaws. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, though I think I might try the motorcycle battery idea some others suggested for longer battery life. Will report on that later this week!

Peg Perego Cub Cadet Pedal Tractor

Peg Perego Cub Cadet Pedal Tractor Review

We bought this for my 2 year old son for his birthday 14 months ago. He rides it every change he gets, whether it's on the grass, the concrete, the mulched beds, or up camping in the dirt. The ability to change the speeds was a great way for him to get started, and now he rides it in the high gear all the time. There is plenty of battery and it recharges quickly. He is pretty rough on it and certainly puts it through everything he can think of and it just keeps on going. The trailer is great, though he doesn't put much in it - other than his little brother, who weighs 25#. I wouldn't recommend really heavy items in the trailer all the time, but he can put balls and sticks in it without an issue. Just a great toy, and it's been a lot of fun for him. We have yet to find somewhere it won't go, including up and down hills.
I highly recommend this toy. When his legs were too short to reach the gas pedal, we zip-tied a block on the top of the pedal so he could reach it....

Peg Perego Polaris 800 Twin Copper 24 V

Peg Perego Polaris 800 Twin Copper 24 V Review

We have owned Peg Perego and Fisher Price - all 12 volt batteries. This was our first 24-volt purchase. We purchased this one in April and received it at the end of April. It did take some time for shipping (2 weeks if I remember correctly), so if you are ordering for a specific date, keep that in mind. My intention in buying this product was to give my 5 yo son a vehicle to drive since his 8 yo brother can drive our real quad. I also wanted to encourage his independence since he has slight cerebral palsy - doing things for himself is invaluable. He has really taken to driving it and is very good about manuevering around everything. Reverse and the foot pedal have easy for him to use.

PROS:
First I'll start out by saying that my 5 year old is the primary one who rides this quad. He is a lightweight (about 4 lbs#, so the battery runs all day. His bigger #about 80 lbs# brother can ride it too with shorter battery life. I've ridden it too and I weigh about 130. I don't think the battery would work long, but it handled me just fine. AW, my 5 yo son loves, loves it. The happiness on his face is worth a lot. The extra speed #7 mph) is much more fun than the typical 5 mph, and my 5 yo can maneuver just fine. We won't go back to a 12 volt now.

CONS:
That being said, I do have some complaints. Building it wasn't the easiest experience mainly because the directions did not indicate which screw to use where. That led me to removing a few and replacing them with a different one...until I needed it somewhere else. Everything else was fairly easy to follow.

Another thing is the durability. The first day of riding, the flag broke, which made my 5 yo cry until I told him he had a flag to play with. Within the first week, a tab on the front grill broke, the red seat fastener came off and a tab on the front cover at the hand grips broke, making it hard for the cover to stay on as well. Now we do have two boys, and I'm sure that had something to do with it. However, it would be nice if the frills on these toys were built to handle some roughness because it is an outdoor, fun toy that is to be thoroughly played with. It still looks good, but I have had to rig things to stay on or just take it off completely. I just hope the rest of it stays together so that my little one can get a few years of fun and I can get the money's worth from it!

CONCLUSION:
Knowing what I know, if I had the choice, I'd buy it again, but definitely not at full price! I think I'd be sick if I had paid over 0 for it. If we do need to have it worked on, then we will have to travel to a city
